Why it matters
The first few seconds decide whether a reader continues. FixWeb looks past word count to ask whether an opening makes a specific promise, whether the important point is easy to find, and whether the page delivers something more useful than polished filler.
How it works
The deterministic pass checks for one H1, non-skipped heading levels, descriptive headings, scannable sections, and supporting internal links. A model reads representative copy for a specific hook, a consistent and non-generic voice, concrete detail or honest tradeoffs, and an ending that resolves the opening and gives a sensible next action.
Site impact
Weak openings waste qualified attention, while vague headings and thin paragraphs make useful material hard to scan or trust. Generic voice blurs brand distinction, and a closing that dumps unrelated CTAs can interrupt rather than guide the next step. The model reviews sampled rendered copy, so it cannot represent unpublished drafts or every page equally.
How to improve
Open with a concrete benefit, tension, or question instead of throat-clearing or a dictionary definition. Keep one clear H1, use descriptive nested headings, and link to relevant supporting pages. Replace generic claims with specifics, examples, original perspective, and honest tradeoffs. End by resolving the opening and offering one context-appropriate next action.
