Why it matters

Structured data is useful only when it describes the visible page accurately. A missing required property or malformed date can make a rich result ineligible even when the page itself loads normally.

How it works

FixWeb flattens rendered JSON-LD and validates recognized types such as Organization, Product, Article, FAQPage, HowTo, Event, Recipe, VideoObject, and BreadcrumbList. Missing required fields and invalid values are hard-fail findings; missing recommended fields are deduplicated best-practice findings.

Site impact

Invalid or incomplete markup can remove rich-result eligibility and reduce the entity context available to search and answer systems. Repeated template errors may affect many URLs at once, while a recommendation is a quality opportunity rather than a guaranteed ranking factor.

How FixWeb tests for it

The check reads application/ld+json from the browser-rendered snapshot, validates up to 100 flattened nodes per page, and reports the type, field, issue kind, and URL. Pages without JSON-LD are skipped here, and unknown types remain the responsibility of the broader structured-data check.

How to improve

Emit JSON-LD that matches visible content, use absolute URLs and schema.org-valid dates, prices, and enum tokens, and fill required fields before recommended ones. Test each template with Schema.org and Google's Rich Results Test after deployment.
