Why it matters
An old or quiet page is not automatically dead weight. It may hold backlinks, rank on page two, support a seasonal need, or be one half of a cannibalization cluster that should be merged instead.
How it works
FixWeb checks under-300-word depth, boilerplate, last meaningful update, inbound internal links and orphaning, then uses connected Search Console, analytics, and backlink signals for position, impressions, CTR, sessions, engagement, decay, referring domains, and competing query clusters. The crawl surfaces hints for keep, update, merge, redirect, or delete; a defensible disposition requires the model-assist layer and the relevant provider data.
Site impact
Thin and orphaned pages waste maintenance and discovery capacity, while careless deletion can discard rankings or editorial links. A defensible disposition preserves equity, consolidates overlap, and directs new writing toward pages with a real opportunity.
How to improve
Rescue relevant orphans, refresh decayed pages, and merge true cannibalization clusters onto the strongest canonical. Expand or consolidate thin content, 301-redirect pages with worthwhile links, and retire only pages confirmed to have no useful audience, ranking, traffic, or link equity.
